Performances:
VMP is a welcoming debut to Dulquer Salman.
He looks super charming and has performed his role effectivly with
different mannerisms. Being a Keralite, Dulquer speaks Tamil fluently
without any Malayalam influence.
Nazriya looks charming and done his role subtly. Brings out the role of Anjana with ease and is beautiful on-screen.
Though Madhoobala has very little scope
to perform, she emotes well proving herself a promising actress. Robo
Shankar, health minister Pandiarajan, Kadhilil sodhappum Sathish and
Vinu Chakravarthy are few others who brought life to Vaayai Moodi
Pesavum.
Technical Analysis:
After proving his hands on direction
with Kadhalil Sodhapuvadhu Eppadi, Balaji Mohan has come up with a
different yet entertaining story line 'Vaayai Moodi Pesavum', telling us
the importance of communication without being much preachy.
Soundararajan’s cinematography gives the
chill look to the Panimalai hill area [Munnar in real]. His camera
works elevated the songs composed by Sean Roldon. Background music suits
the genre well, especially in the second hald. Maatra Paravai and
Udaiguren conveys are good to watch.
Abhinav Sunder Nayak's editing works are okay as the movie just has 120 mins running time.
Analysis:
Balaji Mohan's story, screenplay and
narration are apt for the movie. Apart from interesting characterization
and casting, technicalities such as music, cinematography and editing
supported in film's success. Balaji has satirically criticized the
ongoing situation of banning movies in the state with Nuclear star
Boomesh [John Vijay] vs Drinkers association head [Robo Shankar] clash
epsiode in the film, which evokes good laughter.
Though VMP is an engaging entertainer,
second half could not be appealing to all the viewers comparatively. As
most of the scenes doesn't have dialogues [Flu effect] and viewers had
to concentrate on visuals. Reminds you of Kamal Haasan's Pushpaka
Vimana.
Final Verdict: Refreshing entertainer. Scores for flawless attempt by the team...
